Jordans wins NLIS
e-conveyancing licence
Jordans is now the fourth NLIS channel, having won a hotly contested new licence to provide electronic property searches through the National Land Information Service (NLIS).
With e-connection to 98% of local authorities and to many of the
agencies and utility companies involved in property searches, NLIS
is working towards the Government’s aim of making e-conveyancing
the norm. Jordans is now one of the few providers licensed by C-NLIS
to provide a full electronic service through NLIS.
Offering
a fuller range of searches and excellent customer service![]()
Our service spans more than 70 different searches, ranging from
all the standard searches, including local authority, drainage
and environmental, to the many special requirements for individual
properties and localities, such as searches for mining, transport
and chancel repair.
Brian Gibbons, The Director of Conveyancing Support Services has said: “Winning the NLIS licence is a major coup for us. Not only is it part of our ongoing strategy to help speed up the whole search process but it builds on the existing electronic property search service which we have developed over the last three years.
Electronic searches are being embraced by conveyancing professionals
as they help to streamline the house buying process, and they
are critical to the success of the Home Information Pack (HIP).
By winning the NLIS Channel Service Provider licence, Jordans will be able to offer a fuller range of property searches online, many of which can be completed and returned in a couple of minutes. This, combined with our excellent customer service, will make Jordans the first choice for conveyancing professionals who want access to property information through NLIS."
Local authorities, and the other relevant agencies, are moving fast towards the Government’s target of universal electronic access for property searches. The new Jordans NLIS system will be developed over the coming months and launched in April 2007.
